♥ Goodbye...Till December.

Leave came and went, unfortunately. C is back in Georgia and I'm still in Oklahoma. Leave was great, we had a fun (and slightly nerdy) week together, and we probably won't be able to see each other again until December. I will probably have surgery around that time, but no big. He's officially going to spend at least a few days with my family, and meet them all for the first time.

Yes, I said the first time. He's met Mom once, not under the best circumstances. Other than that, he hasn't met my family yet. He wrote letters to my parents when he asked their permission to ask me to marry him(that seems like a really convoluted sentence), but otherwise they haven't really met. He's in for quite a ride. :) My family is remarkably smaller than his, but remarkably more insane as well.

I don't think I've posted it here, so the following is the story of how we became engaged. :)

He sent my parents a letter asking for their permission, but even better is that he sent each a seperate letter.Mom kept that a secret from me for much longer than I would have expected for her.

So, Thursday after one of his graduation ceremonies; his Aunt, mom, him, and I all went shopping. He went with his Aunt, I went with his mom. We met up, and he had a Kay jewelers bag. I didn't really think anything of it--It was Mother's day weekend. I was right, to an extent--He got his mom gold hoop earrings that she LOVED. So I dismissed the thought of anything shiny for me... We took him back to base, and that night his cousin and I got to talking about weddings and engagements and things like that--I didn't know at the time that EVERYONE in his family, and my parents, already knew he was going to propose. I just shrugged it off.

Friday, we went to his graduation. After the ceremony they got a few minutes where we could stand around and talk and take pictures. I let his family go first, since I saw him the day before. We hugged and kissed, and then just talked for awhile. Then he stepped a few steps away from his family, and then started pulling a little box out of his uniform pocket.... He grabbed both of my hands and got down on one knee and says "you know I love you a lot, right?" I just kind of nodded, sincerely freaking out a little bit. "And I want to do that forever, right?" Words came out this time... "yes". "Do you think you could do the same for me?" I'm getting good at this whole forming words thing... "yes"... "So will you marry me?" One more time.... "yes". And another kiss later, we were very happily engaged!

The best moment of this, however is when I texted my mom to tell her that I was engaged, her message back was "I know".
