♥ Missed me?
Life's been crazy, to say the least.
I have a job-sort of. I'm calling back today to tell them that I would rather not work a commission job, and ask if I can change to something else. If not, I have another place that I'm going to talk to.
Today, I will officially book the place where we will be married. Trippy, to say the least. I don't know, it's weird enough to me to be engaged and getting married, but to actually know where and when? Whoa dream big.
Question of the day: Why must wedding food be so gourmet? WHat if I just want a regular caesar salad instead of a ceasar salad with field griens, smoked parmesan, and tears of baby angels?
Also, Everyone needs to read Fit to be Tied by Bill and Lynne Hybels. That's another post for another day. :)
T-18 months and counting,
J.

♥ Reception Sites.....With a little ceremony thrown in...
I went on my first location visit today.
I feel :meh:.
The site is beautiful, beautiful views, decoration, rooms, etc.
They aren't exactly military friendly, they're wanting notification of any date issues 90+ days in advance..... Anyone in the military can tell you that's ridiculous to expect.
They're quick with the snow/ice removal.
I don't know. Just not in L-O-V-E with it, but I have my date reserved in case the place I look at tomorrow is even worse, lol.
T-way too long and counting,
J.

♥ Bridal Shows: The real horror
In all honesty, it wasn't that bad. I left with a huge bag of information, found the people I want to do my cake(CHEESECAKE), and talked with the people who have my personal #1 reception site.
HOWEVER.
I was harassed for information thousands of times. This gave way for my number one tip for Bridal Shows:
DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION.
Ok, you can, if you don't mind the phone calls and letters and post cards and spammers and ..UGHHHHHHHHHH. Better off just saying no thank you to whatever they are suggesting at the time, and walk away. I've recieved a phone call from one Bridal shop, 3 from David's bridal, 2 postcards and a note from a videographer(that I didn't really care for)... BUT my favorite??
I got an UNSOLICITED(READ: I DID NOT ASK FOR THIS) letter from a GYM offering to get me in shape for the Big Day.
1, Someone that I had given my information to has obviously sold it, and I'm not happy.
2, Why would a gym do that?! I understand that it probably helps draw some women in, b ut it really turns me off. :( I think I look just fine, thank you, so screw you and your Gym.
3, I really don't need that. I'm not-so-fantastically underweight. Before if any of you say anything, it is NOT because I have some sort of Eating Disorder, it is because I'm blessed/cursed with this pesky inability to gain weight.
I enjoyed the free tastings, the information, and that's about it. I didn't enjoy everyone pushing me to buy something RIGHTNOW and the lack of space to move around.
But hey, I got a rose, 2 packs of gum, 3 bites of cake, and a gihugic bag full of ads...
Well, life doesn't suck too much now does it?

♥ Insanity
Hello, My name is J. I'm 20.5, and engaged. His name is C. He is in the military. We'll leave it at that. Oh, he's 22, for whatever our ages matter. We met in college, fell in love, and all that fun stuff.
For all intents and purposes, I am crazy.
Why, you ask?
Because within the next 18 months, I will not only plan a wedding. I will plan a classic, elegant wedding while holding sorority office, student government office, a full course load, and a part-time job. I will do this, knowing that the military can, at any time, not-so-politely ask us to change our date. We will be married in late December, in my hometown.
OH, I don't currently live in my hometown. I live some distance away, making this even crazier.
Join me, in my descent into insanity/married bliss. Read about the bridal shows, showers, appointments, and other wedding-related wonders.
T-18 months and counting,
J
